Crash Team Racing remastered has been officially revealed with a new trailer, following not-so-subtle teasers.

Activision announced the classic PlayStation One racing game is getting the remaster treatment at The Game Awards 2018, which will be released on 21 June 2019.

Titled Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, the revamped game is developed by Beenox and will feature original modes adventure and time trials, along with the crucial new addition of online multiplayer.

If you’re unfamiliar with the original title, Crash Team Racing was developed by Naughty Dog in 1999 and is often touted as the only worthy rival to Nintendo’s Mario Kart.

While it’s fairly similar to the latter, the game’s adventure mode was perhaps the key difference – seeing players taken on a more story-driven single-player outing with a hub world reminiscent of 1997’s Diddy Kong Racing.

Alongside Crash Bandicoot himself, other characters in the playable roster include Coco, Doctor Neo Cortex, Tiny Tiger, Dingodile, Doctor N. Gin, Pura and Polar.

This remaster follows the overwhelmingly successful Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which recreated the first three original PlayStation One classics.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will release on 21 June 2019 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
