The original Crackdown is now available for free on the official Xbox Store and is enhanced for Microsoft’s Xbox One X.

Originally released for the Xbox 360 back in 2007, Realtime Worlds’ Crackdown is truly a gem and is available for Xbox One through the platform’s backwards compatibly program.

From Realtime Worlds, “Crackdown” pushes the action-driving hybrid genre into the next generation with the first-ever truly 3-D playground. Gamers will level up their Agent’s strength, agility, firearms, explosives and driving skills while scaling the fully vertical world of “Crackdown.”

As said, the game is Xbox One X enhanced and will run at a higher resolution, more pixels and expanded color details on Microsoft’s enhanced Xbox One console.

“When the world’s most powerful console launches on Nov. 7, you will be able to run select Xbox 360 games at higher resolution, 9X the original pixel count, and expanded color details”, Microsoft wrote back in October of last year. “The team developed the Heutchy Method (after the engineer who created it) which leverages the power of Xbox One X to let the Xbox 360 emulator present the very best version of the game possible with the existing assets—all without touching the game code. The same method improves the graphics for Original Xbox games on Xbox One and Xbox One S.”

The game can be downloaded through the Xbox Store on your console or to your console by clicking the ‘download’ button on Microsoft’s online Xbox Store. Crackdown weighs in at 6.51GB.
